অনিচ্ছা সত্ত্বেও বিভিন্ন মহলের লবিং ও সরকারের চাপে এই নির্বাচনী মাসে রাজনৈতিক বিবেচনায় বেঙ্গল কমার্শিয়াল ব্যাংককে নীতিগত অনুমোদন দিয়েছে বাংলাদেশ ব্যাংক। মঙ্গলবার রাতে গবর্নর ফজলে কবিরের সভাপতিত্বে বাংলাদেশ ব্যাংকের পরিচালনা পর্ষদের সভায় ব্যাংকটির কাগজপত্র যাচাই-বাছাই শেষে সন্তুষ্ট হয়ে নীতিগত অনুমোদন দেয়া হয়। ----
